Where the $39 goes
A trust product that funds itself.
We didn't pick $39 because it sounds nice. It's the price at which a small, focused team can run a serious verification service, including disputes, without raising venture money or selling your data. Here's the rough breakdown per cert.
| Stripe processing | $1.45 |
| Compute (diagnostic + signing) | $1.60 |
| Insurance + reserve (refunds + disputes) | $6.00 |
| Engineering, ops, support | $18.00 |
| Margin | $11.95 |
| Total | $39.00 |
FAQ
Pricing questions.
- Why no subscription?
- Sellers list a Mac maybe twice a year. A subscription would mean charging people for time they're not using the product. One-time pricing matches the actual usage pattern.
- Do you offer volume discounts?
- Not at MVP. If you're a refurbisher pushing 50+ certs/month, email us and we'll set something up by hand. Bundle pricing is on the roadmap.
- What's the refund policy?
- If the cert generation fails (the diagnostic refuses to issue, or App Attest fails for a device-specific reason), we refund automatically within 60 seconds. If your listing falls through within 14 days, we re-issue free for the same Mac. Otherwise, all sales final.
- Is the buyer side really free forever?
- Yes. The seller pays once; the buyer verifies as many times as they want, including re-attesting from another device, or letting their escrow agent verify programmatically. Buyer-side cost is zero.
- Can I expense this?
- Yes. The cert URL itself doubles as a receipt; a PDF receipt is also emailed. Tax IDs and business names can be added at checkout.
